Oscar Niemeyer has designed the cultural center in Avilés, built into in the surroundings, which plans to be the driving force for the recovery of an area degraded by industrial activity.

The project consisted in transforming the existing Opera and Philharmonic of Białystok into a new European Center for Music and Art. The unique solutions were able to adapt the older construction with the new, modernistic project.

The work for the Basilica del Pilar’s comprehensive restoration, of medieval origin, has been carried out since 2005. Each year, it receives approximately 10 million visits, which have not been interrupted at any time by this project.
